My Planning Process

Yohana Williams Weddings WVOne of the top priorities of any wedding planner is to connect with the brides and grooms who she is fortunate enough to work with. Connecting with you, Morgantown bride, is my top priority. There are few things that bring me more joy than planning a day filled with your inspiration and mine that I know will leave you feeling as though you had a wonderful wedding. With that in mind, I thought we would talk about how I typically plan a wedding with my couples! After we connect over email or on the phone, my first step is always to  coordinate an initial consultation, which is completely complementary.

During this consultation, I want to learn all about you and your groom! How did you meet? What do you both love? What inspires you? How do you imagine the feel of your wedding? I can’t wait to hear you tell your stories!

I will also want to know where you stand in your planning process. Some brides absolutely love planning their wedding and are simply looking for a day of coordinator (I offer a month-of-coordination package), while others prefer to have me plan the entire event. Either way, we’ll decide on a mutually beneficial package that will allow us to have fun as a team! You can find more information about my packages right here. Please note, that every package includes coordination of your ceremony rehearsal and wedding day.

Once all of the formalities have taken place, we’ll dive headfirst into finding vendors that you will both love. My job as a planner is to connect you with a team who will be able to bring your ideas, and perhaps ideas you didn’t know were even possible, to life complete with the best customer service. My other top priority is to make sure you stay within your budget. “I do” and “I’m broke” definitely don’t go hand-in-hand, nor should they!

Once your wedding day has finally arrived, I will continue to take care of all of the details from a vendor who might be running late (you’ll never know about it because I will already be putting plan B into action) to a guest who might be a little less than pleased (“nobody puts my bride or groom in a corner” – yes, Dirty Dancing style!). For your entire process, I will forever be on your side.

Whether we’re just meeting at your complimentary consultation or you’re dancing the night away at your reception, my focus as a person and as wedding planner is always on creativity and interpersonal relationships. I want you, your groom, your guests, and your vendors to feel comfortable, welcome, and taken care of. To me, these are the ingredients for a planning experience I hope you and everyone else involved will love. It will be an honor to plan your wedding.

xoxo, Yohana
